Canadian Foreign Minister Promotes the Abolition of Steel and Aluminum Tariffs
Release time:Jul 08, 2019 From:admin
When Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland met with Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, at a security conference in Munich on Saturday, he made it clear the importance of the U.S. lifting tariffs on imports of steel and aluminium from Canada.
Freeland said Canada's current focus was on the domestic ratification process of the US-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement, and Canada remained strongly opposed to the imposition of Article 232 tariffs on steel and aluminium.
Canada's position is that now that the conclusion has been reached (USMCA), there is more reason to abolish tariffs.
