Vale: 11 billion reais will be invested in iron ore dry beneficiation in the next five years
Release time:May 15, 2019 From:admin
The mining giant Vale has announced that it is expected to invest another 11 billion reais (about 2.5 billion U.S. dollars) for dry beneficiation in the next five years.
About 60% of the current iron ore production in Vale is dry beneficiation. The goal of Vale is to achieve 70% of dry dressing by 2023. It is reported that in the past 10 years, Vale has invested R$ 66 billion to increase the dry dressing ratio to 60%. This technology uses the natural moisture contained in the iron ore itself for beneficiation, without the need for water, and does not produce tailings during the beneficiation process, so there is no need to use tailings dams. Vale's Karagas, Sehalage and Eliezer Batista S11D mines in the state of Pará, Brazil, as well as several plants in Minas Gerais, use natural moisture for dry beneficiation.
