Real gross domestic product (GDP) in the US increased by 3.1 percent year on year in 2018, registering the fastest rate of growth since 2005, according to data released by the US Department of Commerce (US DOC). This was the fourth time since the recession that US annual GDP growth exceeded three percent.
Private domestic investment in the US rose by seven percent in 2018, the fastest rate since 2015. Meanwhile, intellectual property investment grew by 10.8 percent in the same year, recording the fastest growth rate since 2000.
