U.S. steel mill shipments in June increased by 7.9% year-on-year.

According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Association (AISI) in June, shipments of steel mills in the United States in May were 8.3 million short tons, 10.3% higher than 7.53 million short tons in February and 7.9% higher than 7.69 million short tons in March 2017.
In the first quarter, American steel mills shipped 23.46 million short tons, an increase of 3.7% over the same period last year.
In terms of shipments, compared with May, in April, hot-rolled sheet increased by 12%, hot-galvanized sheet and strip increased by 11%, and cold-rolled sheet increased by 10%.
