Slab Export Price Shocks in Ukraine

Ukraine's Russian standard 5SP billet export FOB quotation is US$481-486 per ton for 125 125 150 150 mm traders. It's down 9 dollars/ton from last week.

Local steel billet prices in Ukraine have tumbled this week, and traders are mostly on the sidelines. In terms of transaction, the CFR quotation is between US$490 and US$495 per ton for delivery from Black Sea Port to Egypt in December, and the freight is US$20 per ton. For December delivery from Black Sea Port to Turkey, CFR quotes US$495-500 per ton, freight is US$15 per ton, and for December delivery from Black Sea Port to Algeria, CFR quotes US$510-515 per ton, freight is US$30 per ton.

Generally speaking, the demand of Ukrainian steel billet market is relatively weak recently, and the enthusiasm of traders is not high. It is expected that the price of Ukrainian steel billet will continue to oscillate next week.
