According to foreign news on May 30, the dry bulk freight index of the Baltic Sea Shipping Exchange fell on Thursday, dragged down by the drop in the sea-going rate.
The overall dry bulk freight index of the Baltic Sea fell by 10 points or 0.9% to 1,097 points.
The index was held near a four-month high on Wednesday.
The Capesize freight index fell 36 points, or 2.2%, to 1,623.
The daily average profit of the Capesize vessel fell by US$198 to US$12,965. This type of ship usually carries 17-180,000 tons of cargo, and the cargo is iron ore and coal.
The Panamax freight rate index rose by 3 points, or 0.2%, to 1,340 points.
The average daily profit of Panamax vessels rose by $28 to $10,740. This type of ship usually carries between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of cargo, and the cargo is usually coal or grain.
The Super Handysize freight index fell 7 points to 756 points.
