In March, China exported 3.77 million tons of steel sheets, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%

According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs, in March 2019, China exported 3.77 million tons of steel plates, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%; the cumulative exports in January-March reached 10.19 million tons, an increase of 18.4%. In March, China imported 740,000 tons of steel sheets, down 28.8% year-on-year; the cumulative imports in January-March were 2.45 million tons, down 16.7% year-on-year.
In March, China exported 1.21 million tons of bars, down 4.9% year-on-year; the cumulative exports in January-March were 3.08 million tons, up 3.8% year-on-year. In March, China imported 80,000 tons of steel bars, down 14.1% year-on-year; the cumulative imports in January-March were 240,000 tons, down 6.7% year-on-year.
In March, China exported 158 tons of scrap, down 99.5% year-on-year; in January-March, it exported 1,740 tons, down 98.9% year-on-year. In March, China imported 30,000 tons of scrap, down 85.1% year-on-year; in January-March, it imported 60,000 tons, down 86.6% year-on-year.
